How we check rakeback data

Every rate on rake-back.org comes with two labels: the base it is calculated on and the date it was last checked. This page explains where the figures come from, what the labels mean and how we update them.

Version of

Where the data comes from

We collect rakeback terms from the sources below, in this order of preference:

  1. The operator's own program pages and terms.
  2. News reports on program launches and changes, for example from PokerFuse and PokerNews.
  3. Independent reviews, such as PokerListings, Casino.org and The Spike.
  4. Affiliate sites, used only when nothing better exists and always marked as such.
  5. Traffic data from SharkScope and search rankings from Semrush, used for context, not for rates.

We do not take affiliate commissions and do not link to operators or to sources. Source names are given in text at the bottom of each operator page.

The base of each rate

A percentage means nothing without its base. Every rate on the site carries one of these labels:

Base What the percentage applies to
Rake rake paid in poker cash games and tournament fees
House edge the casino's margin on each bet
Net loss losses over a period (cashback, lossback)
Turnover the amount wagered
Loyalty points points exchanged for rewards; no direct percentage
Club agent rakeback agreed with a club agent in poker apps
Not specified the operator or source does not say

Rates with different bases are not sorted together without a label, because 10% of rake and 10% of house edge are different amounts.

When sources disagree, we show the range and say so on the page, rather than picking the most attractive figure.

Page tiers

Tier When What the page contains
A the rate and its levels are published by the operator or described the same way by news reports full page: rate card, calculator with the operator's rate, levels, claim steps, change log
B the rate comes from a single source or from sources that disagree, or there is no rate but the brand is well known short page: what is known, what is not published, how to check yourself
C no data no page until a rate appears

Check dates and updates

Each operator page shows the date the data was last checked. We review all operators at least once a year and update a page as soon as a program change is reported. The year in page titles changes at the annual review; addresses stay the same.

What we do not do

  • We do not publish affiliate rakeback deals.
  • We do not invent rates. Where an operator publishes nothing, the page says it is not published.
  • We do not give star ratings or scores.

Questions and answers

How often is rakeback data updated?

At least once a year for every operator, and sooner when a program change is reported. The check date is on each page.

Why do some pages have no rate?

Because the operator does not publish one, or the sources contradict each other. The page then explains how to work out your own rate.

Can I report a change in a program?

Yes, through the contact page. We check reports against the operator's terms before changing a figure.
